Good column. AJ is a pro's pro. A cliche, but that's what he is, a pro's pro.

when a.j. was with the twins he was told to stay out of the training room. huh? How come nobody has told wimp mauer to stay out. 1000 innings in 10 years, wow. Wish the twins had one player with that kind of toughness.

Since May 18: Mauer batting .406 with .482 on-base percentage in 27 games, so he's got that going for him.

AJ always was a great favorite of mine, but the deal they got for trading him was among the best ever for the Twins.

AJ for the AL, and in the NL, Carlos Ruiz.

They received a lot of value, but that talent never got them out of the first round. Also, AJ is an ironman, which is lot more than you can say for Mauer.

Karma is the reason AJ will not make the all-star team. There are numerous documented episodes such as AJ punching a trainer in the groin. He is a bad person, and that folks, is why he will be in Chicago during the three day break.

What does longetivity got to do with being an all star. The all star game is about the current year not lifetime achievement.
