Wolves draft choice: Deal or no deal?

The Wolves have the 18th pick in the draft, but their preference is to trade the pick, and they have many options.

The Wolves are finally building a potentially potent team. It would absolutely zero sense to blow it all up by trading for an over the hill redundant PF and giving up the #2 draft choice from last year. Williams is a stud, and is making relatively little money. I would draft a shooter like Ross or Barton, and sign Crawford to start while our new rookie watches and learns. Amnesty Milicic and pick up a backup center like Turief or draft one in the 2nd round. No way do we trade Williams.

Who knows, maybe Wes Johnson will turn into the great number 2/3 we are looking for!

Don't trade just for the sake of trading. None of those names sound very promising, especially given their contracts. There's a lot of talent in the mid to late 1st round this year. Make use of it.

I never understand when a team falls into a Center like Pekovic and still sports writers and teams look for something else. He was great! Why in the hell would they want a soft Gasol?!! So next year they can say they need a center who can be tough and block shots?! Well, that is Pekovic!! I hate when they just want to trade just so they can trade!

Gasol is a stiff. Keep Williams, he could turn into something really good. Not enough high end talent on the TWolves to gain much by trade. blairg's comments are pretty good.

Even the thought of trading Williams is mind boggling... I don't want to hear anymore of it!

I'd move our 18th for Martin (expiring as well). We need to add some 'win now' pieces to keep Love/Rubio/staff happy. Either sign Roy or Crawford as our 6th man and move Williams for a top pick 2-5 and hope to get Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. I don't think Williams will be a SF in this league. I think he could be a great stretch 4 on another team where he has a better opportunity to play.
