New-home sales up during May

Compared with May 2011, single-family house sales rose nearly 23 percent in the Twin Cities area and nearly 20 percent nationwide.

this is a sign of nothing. It needs to run this way all summer than taper off in the fall ( like normal) and then start again next spring. Otherwise - this is a blip. Get used to waiting longer for "trends, indicators & signs."

This is awesome! If these figures were almost double, that would be the plateau that economists consider healthy. Things are just great!

Claiming 'housing recovery' without addressing the homeless untouchables is like claiming 'jobs recovery' by increasing pay rates for people who already have jobs and then ignoring the jobless untouchables even further.
