when you connect with that 97mph fastball it goes a long ways..Joe's double...and Willingham hit an overtheplate change/87mph...where the location was I knew it was gone..the harder they throw the farther it goes...so much for your "power" pitcher...

Willingham seems to have a knack for late game heroic. He saved the Twins with a 2-run homer. Nice to see Plouffe getting back to hit hitting solo shot HR and tying for the team lead in HRs with 15 (Willingham). Back to AL and the DH again for the Twins! Good win for Diamond today...one of the Twins most consistent starters!

but why didn't they intentionally walk Votto? no way I pitch to him there...no way...

Diamond had made him look helpless all day, so it's not surprising they pitched to him. And he actually made a pretty good pitch. Votto just went out and got it, hitting it the opposite way, barely into the seats, in a small ballpark.

Geez, remember when we used to see baseball like this a lot more often?

EVEN though DOZIER made some nice plays today he has got to start hitting.

Hey Cinci, I see you need a "proven" closer. You're in luck, we got a guy we really don't need in Capps. He's yours for the right price, just sayin'

WHY oh why does this management staff pull Diamond after 82 pitches?!! The babying of the pitching staff still continues! God I hate Gardy!

lindy_frank123: Twins lead 2-1 bottom of the 8th. Reds have tying run at first and you would intentionally walk Votto forcing the tying run to 2nd with no outs? True, pitching to Votto didn't work out, but I'm sure glad you aren't the manager on a daily basis.

Goes to show you needs guys who can hit them hit in order to win more games. You need way too many singles to score enough runs to kkep up with how many runs our staff gives up.
