Only time will tell if Ponder will be our future QB or not....I for one hope so....Its time to build this team into a playoff and hopefully title contender....Spielman doesnt have a great track record but one can only hope that he has learned a thing or two along the way....Skol Vikes

Looking at several first rounder QBs as of recent, I'm perfectly fine having Ponder over many of the others. Spielman's track record as a person drafting a QB? I ask this since Spielman's only true QB pickup was Ponder. Frazier was responsible for picking up McNabb last year. And Chilly was responsible for T-Jack. So I don't quite understand what track record you are referring to. Spielman has a pretty good draft record overall regardless of position. Spielman was the primary person responsible for bringing in Jared Allen. That worked out pretty well :-).

Bulkier where? In his derriere or his arms and shoulders? Makes a huge difference... Better detailing of such little factoids would seem to be in order.

I'm more concerned about the MLB position. Brinkley is still hurt or recovering. No one solid backing him up. Now Everson getting looks there. Dicey to say the least.

MLB does seem like the largest concern. with nearly every other position expecting to see imprroved play this year. I've heard alot of positives about Everson, if he proves capable in the MLB spot through Training Camp it could be a positive way to get him on the field.

When will the Vikings admit they spent a 1st round pick on a 4th round QB. Ponder is and always will be an NFL backup at best, nothing more. Time to admit he is just not starter material.

This is good for Ponder. He will be taking a severe beating with our young offensive line. I predict he will be dinged up by game 5 and Webb will be the quarterback the rest of next season.

When will the Vikings admit, they panic with their 13th overall pick and had to choose a QB no matter what--and selected a 3rd rounder. The bigger story a few years from now will be, they passed on Dalton (future Pro Bowler QB) and maybe Mallet too. Let's be realistic, they really had their eye on Jake Locker, NOT Ponder.
