It is about time that someone makes an example of these whiny players. Harvin signed a five year contract and now he wants more money. No one held a gun to his head and made him sign. Also he got paid for every game he missed because of his migraine issues. He needs to live up to his word and fulfil the contract.

I really never thought I would say something like this, but I say give Percy the contract extension/more $, with clauses built in for his migraine attacks. He'll blow it anyway in time...but maybe the Viks will give us a few good moments this year. Not many.

I guess I have a different angle than most people on this. For baseball players? Sure. The money is guaranteed, they ink the deal the play it out. If they don't like it, they shouldn't have signed it. Football? If he doesn't produce the team can walk away from most of his contract. If he produces above what was expected of him when he signed his contract, I'm more sympathetic of his trying to get more money. He's handling it pretty quietly. If I were making $1 million a year guaranteed I wouldn't be complaining... but since teams can screw players, I'm okay with productive players getting more from their teams. Want to change the system? Go to guaranteed money contracts in football.

I don't think he should be talking about this with TWO years on his contract. He signed the contract and should hold true to his word. I would agree if during the final year he had some negotiation rights for an extension. Either way, you made the deal, honor it! Isn't that the very nature of entering a contract? I actually am tired of these athletes' salaries because it is far too much money. Oh well, I'll go back to my job search as I just finished an A.A.S. degree and cannot find a job.

This dude has missed how many games? He has been paid every season as though he played every game and he has yet to actually play every game of an entire season. No wonder he has migraines, he's brain dead.

If Percy is unhappy with the money - he has no one to blame but himself - No one forced him to smoke a J before the NFL Draft Combine and the testing that found him positive. Which is what caused him to drop in the draft. If he hadn't tested positive, he would have been a top 10 pick and paid like one. If it's not about the money and he's upset that Ponder is bonding with Simpson more than him - then get over it. Percy is a scat back and a slot receiver. Period. He is not a #1 deep threat on a good team. He should not be a #1 on this team. We tried that last year, and it didn't work.

For most NFL teams players rarely get to the last year of their contract before either signing a new one or moving on. So on one hand Percy wants to get paid based on him out performing his rookie contract. Aside from his migraines he's been tough as nails and can be counted on. On the other hand, this isn't the last year of the contract. Percy would like to be on a winner before his short career is over. I say reworl the contract a little, with incentives and clauses about health and make him happy. He's the only sure fire stud in the receiving corps right now.
