I know this is a long shot but is the "guest cartoonist" Republican? Must be someone who has not followed the news for the last three years because they actually believe that Obama should try AGAIN to work with the Republicans in Congress only to have them spit on him again as they do nothing about another issue facing this country.

Did Reagan or Bush ever do anything like this?

It would be more accurate to portray the President as the adult and Congress as a two-year old pitching a tantrum.

What nonsense! With republicans in Congress dedicated entirely to defeating the President and all of his policies, he has no choice but to move ahead without them. Can you imagine the outrage from the right if the situation was reversed and a Democratic Congress blocked every initiative of a republican president?

The Republicans have stalled the immigration debate through Senate Cloture. Whether or not it is "politically motivated" Obama has made a decision and took a stance - where is the Republican reply? Romney and his surrogates refuse to simply answer the question - will Romney scrap the Obama policy or not.

We live in a Constitutional republic, not a democracy or a monarchy. The President is sworn to uphold the Constitution and the laws set by Congress. Not choose which laws to enforce...no can he set national policy unilaterally.

Perhaps the right end with an unjustified means. Surely, if he wanted to put in the effort, he could easily convince the country that this is the right policy and then pass a law! Government by diktat and fiat is an anathema to America and so in November this good deed will not be "unpunished".

How dumb is this cartoon? Congress can't get anything done so Obama make an executive decision, as it is in his power to do so. If congress has better ideas on this, they can pass a law. That would require them not to take so much vacation time, though. Time to get a new cartoonist.

Congress can't get anything done so Obama make an executive decision, as it is in his power to do so. - - Even the left is saying this is a new threshold that has been crossed by a sitting president.
