Gardy should be fired, why would you pull f lariano after giving up one hit. He was pitching a great game, hand it over to the bullpen and the lose it again, this is getting really old!!!!! Also i hate capps never liked him he has cost us to many wins!!!!

Gardenhire puts in Crapps with the score tied, then allows Mauer to bat with two outs. let bBurton pitch the ninth with a tie, and let someone, amyone hit for mauer in that situation. Weak grounder to second was preordained. Gardenhire has to go.

Gardy needs to move Plouffe up the batting order behind Willingham giving him more opportunity to drive in some runs and protecting Willingham at the same time. Capps is not a closer and never will be so Gardy please move someone else into that spot. Capps gave up more hits in one inning than Liriano in 6 innings. Twins played well to win and it's unfortunately for Liriano to give up a 3-run homer as his only hit given up! Twins needs to win these kind of games.

Oops, Mauer on the brain! Matt Capps.

Matt Capps is NOT a closer. He puts way too many runners on base to be a closer.

so if plouffe maintains this level of production, how much does he get paid? the guy with 2 career home runs at target field gets 23 mil per, so the new latest and greatest 3rd basemen to have ever played the game should be worth at least double that right?

fdrebin - If Gardy allowed his current second-highest average hitter bat in that situation, you'd probably be OK with that. But I guess since that second-best hitter's name is Mauer, THAT is why you have a problem with it. Oh, and by the way, the best hitter is Revere, who has played half as many games as Mauer. So Gardy's decision seems to make statistical sense, does it not? Don't get me wrong, I want to see Gardy or at least Gardy's buddies go. But batting Joe certainly doesn't warrant that.

Fire Garfenhire!!! This is now the 3rd time in a row that he has brought Capps in the 9th inning with the score tied and each time Capps has lost the game!!! Will somebody please tell Gardenhire to stop doing that!!!

pazaluna - let me know if I am wrong, but last time I checked, salaries aren't based on HR's only. And I don't think players are paid based on performance of one month.

Madd Capps is the worst "closer" in the bigs ... I hesitate to call him that because a closer by definition is suppose to CLOSE the game ... not offer up softballs to the other team to hit all over the park ... For $4.5 million, (yes, he actually makes four and a half million dollars this season), we could have saved a boatload of money and got ANY beer league wanna-be's at the cost of a BAR TAB PER GAME to completely blow any chance the Twins have in the ninth !!
