Sorry firefighters, the top state funding priority is to build a stadium for the Vikings to revitalize Minneapolis. Maybe you could put electronic pulltab machines in the fire stations.

Let me guess who set the "national standard" for the number of firemen every municipality needs to hire...firemen?

Never heard any public union argue that they had too much funding.... 100% of the time they argue that there is too little funding....

Amazing that they would consider themselves an impartial entity, making an impartial observation about funding.

To the public unions there is never enough tax money taken out of the pockets of the hard-working, honest taxpayers....

Uncontrollable greed is the best way to describe these unions!!!!

@BillyHeywood: I tend to believe the people who actually FIGHT FIRES would know how many people are necessary on a fire rig, over some below-average person who has no clue.

Mayor- Could you please publish the list of your spending priorities in the city of Minneapolis? Oh councilpersons-you too. Is the 300th fireman or policeman more important than a bike coordinator or another road worker? how about the 350th policeman or firefighter? If Minneapolis can't budget or pay for them, why should the state or the feds? Cut the budget or raise the taxes or elect someone who isn't a democrat to do the heavy lifting for you. I am sorry and sensitive to the injuries that they sustained and the danger that they face daily. Oh by the way reporter, how many firemen were on the site fighting that fire when the incident happened? I assume it wasn't just the three of them.

@totaltruth: Unbelievable! Never in my life have I seen so many ignorant people when the subject comes to unions. I'd like to see you do their job, working under their conditions, and then see what YOU have to say!

And it seems that the most ignorant ones are actually the members of the unions who refuse to live in the REAL world.

Oh, be quiet fireman and police. We have important things to do, like build football stadiums.
