A 12-block stretch of St. Paul's University Avenue may be a temporary obstacle course, but it's a delicious one. And yes, there's parking.

As a purveyor of these above mentioned food places, Rick Nelson knows what he is talking about. Truong Nam is fantastic and the restaurants, while not all high in ambience are treasures for food. GO NOW!!!!

We lived in the area for 12 years. Some of the great places are mentioned but also try Hoa Bien Vietnamese at Lex and University, Golden Gate in the strip mall with Rainbow foods at Snelling for good, CHEAP chow mein and for great food AND ambience, try Mai Village on the South side between Marion and Dale.

Thank you for this great list. I've often wondered about some of these businesses. I'll be heading over there.

Great article! My husband and I tried Homi Restaurant last night and loved it. The University construction wasn't too bad and we easily found spot to park behind their building. I ordered the tamale special for dinner and thought the cheese and chile tamale was delicious (especially because it only cost $7.99!)

So glad to see a few of the great places along this line called out not only for their great food, but great owners too! The 'lack of parking' talk is such a myth. It's definitely different to get there from the old routes, but just matter of navigating a side street or two to get to the storefront you're looking for.

Thank you for providing this guide. I was over at Cheng Heng this morning and the owners are amazing people and the staff is very friendly. The food there is mouth watering and definetly within budget, the construction wasn't to bad and they do have their own parking lot, so parking isn't a hassle. You won't regret eating there, go now!!!!
