Thank you Anoka County for a dose of reality to the need for a rail line between the Twin Cities and Duluth. Who would travel this route and how much more expensive would it be than just driving? When I get off the train in Duluth, how do I get up to the North Shore, Gooseberry Falls, Two Harbors -- do I still need to rent a car? That makes a lot of sense....

"...and deliver passengers from Minneapolis to Duluth in two slightly more than hours." I don't think I'd want to arrive in two no matter how many hours. I'd rather arrive in one piece thank you. :)

"Anoka County doesn't understand that the feds have earmarked billions of dollars for rail projects, paying up to 80 percent of the costs"...Perhaps Anoka County understands that a "high speed" train line that will get you to Duluth in the same time as driving will run empty for all in intents and purposes. Maybe they truly understand the big picture TOO WELL.

Thank you commishes for your votes to get out of nlx. Hopefully after this next election one more of the good ol boys will be gone. This train route failed as amtrack what has happened to change this next outcome? Sounds like insanity to me. Mr. Kordiak hopefully someone will unseat you for your lack of vision. Times are a changin!

One can drive there vehicle from Anoka county to Duluth in slightly more than two hours, and you won't have to rent a vehicle when you arrive!

It's always politcally motivated. So Anoka County was all on-board to support a Vikings stadium, a private enterprise, but suddenly not on-board to support a public works project? Yeah, makes a ton of sense. The hypocrisy is what kills me.

For that kind of money I would expect a bullet train and a one hour trip.

OF COURSE Rhonda is against a rail line to Duluth--and ANY form of rail. She is fully financed by hard-right money from the Koch brothers and other Big Oil interests, and the last thing they want is Americans changing their behavior and getting off their addiction to oil. Anything that doesn't promote oil use and profits is "waste" and a "boondoggle," be it electric-powered rail or cars, wind power, solar power, or regulation promoting clean air and water. But propose a new highway for rich Republicans to race their SUV on, and we are suddenly not "broke."

Thank you, Anoka County for showing some financial sense and standing up to these free spenders. This project hasn't made any sense from the beginning.

Very short-sighted Anoka. Skipping these opportunities is what keeps people from coming back to live in Anoka.
