Saunders didn't exactly shine after he left the Wolves. The reason the Wolves have done so poorly is because McHale destroyed the team.

"I've had my share of predictions come true, maybe more than have been inaccurate." This is, without question the most false thing ever written by Sidney Hartman!

Dump...DITCH...get OUT of the incredibly stupid home and home series with North Carolina in football. The non-conference portion of the schedule is a necessary evil I guess. Until the Big Ten decides to add one more program (Notre Dame) and go to a complete "round robin" schedule, the ONLY thing that really matters is winning all four of the HOME ooc games (the only way to make some money is to have FOUR games with "rent-a-teams", and then go out and win three...four...five or more Big Ten Conference games. The little dudes and dudettes on other web sites like to try to spout off about the need for "big time" ooc games. IF the Gophers don't start qualifying for Bowl Games, the program will forever be a bottom of the Big Ten program. The way to have a BIG TIME ooc game on the schedule is to qualify for a bowl game. The dudes and dudettes who see things differently can NOT see the forest for the trees, so to speak. Losing ANY early season ooc game will ONLY drive this Gopher Program further into the bottom of the Big Ten Standings. I LONG for the day when the entire Football Schedule will be made up of ONLY Big Ten Games. THAT is what I want to see. It is the Big Ten Rivalries that make the Football Season worth watching. I really could care less about North Carolina...UNLESS our Gopher Football Team EARNS the right to play them in a bowl game. Now THAT would bea game worth traveling to a neutral site to watch... ; 0 )

pantherhawk person: It will be a WONDERFUL day when Coach Kill plays and beats teams such as Oregon, Arkansas and Alabama in ANY kind of bowl game, won't it? I am sure that you are a eal fan of Gopher Football and hope for the best for Gopher Football...aren't you? At any rate, it will be a GREAT day when Coach Kill brings his team to a bowl game. That will be much progress for Golden Gopher Football. That is what we ALL want...isn't it pantherhawk person.. ; 0 )

David Stearn was a little to harsh on a young franchise with the Joe Smith penalty is what sealed Flip's fate . I mean really Joe Smith for 4 1st round picks, 1 or 2 but to cut us off for 4 years Stearn didn't like the way we were starting win around here.

As one of the best football minds I have ever known is so fond of saying: the ONLY way for this Gopher Program to improve is to win more football games. ANY kind of win is better than any kind of loss. How can a program improve as a Big Ten Program? ONLY by winning more Big Ten Football Games. Good luck and best wishes to Coach Kill. I think he may have a chance...IF, and ONLY if he can find a way for his football team to win MORE football games than they have been winning. Until the day that Coach Kill can win more than two Big Ten Football games, he will be a bottom third of the conference Big Ten Coach. Winning three Big Ten games in a season will be a start...will be a bit better. But, until he can win five...or MORE Big Ten games in a season, he won't have the team at the level Coach Mason had the team at. Most, if not all of the twenty somethings and thirty somethings who consider themselves to be "IT" just don't understand that losing ooc football games will NEVER help this Golden Gopher Football Program. They also don't really deserve anything more than brewster-like results since so many of them were big-time brew-ball supporters. Go ahead Coach Kill and schedule a TOUGHER ooc schedule and just SEE what it will get you. But, just remember, Coach Kill, without trips to bowl games most seasons, you will NEVER last more than four or five seasons. ONLY trips to bowl games will save your job. And, the 20 somethings and 30 somethings who want you to beef up the ooc schedule will be some of the FIRST to turn on you Coach Kill... And that's what these 20 somethings and 30 somethings who talk the loudest about what great Gopher Fans they do...they have done it for the last thirty years or longer. And...so it goes Coach Kill. I say DUMP that Carolina game and win four ooc games in 2013. Then, win three...or four...or five Big Ten games and make SURE you take the team to a bowl game. You NEED to do that Coach Kill...you really do NEED to take your team to abowl game MOST years if you are going to survive the 20 and 30 somethings... ; 0 )

THE TIMBERWOLVES FRANCHISE CAME APART WHEN OWNERSHIP DID NOT GIVE CASELL A FIVE MILLION RENEGOTIATION IN SALARY AFTER HE BECAME UPSET THAT WALLY SCZERBIAC WAS EARNING FIVE MILLION MORE THAN CASELL AND CASELL WAS AN ALL-STAR. ONE BY ONE THE OWNER TOOK THE TEAM APART,FIRING SAUNDERS, TRADING CASELL AND GARNETT IN VERY BAD TRADES AND LETTING CENTER EARVIN JOHNSON GO FROM ONE OF THE BEST TEAMS IN THE NBA. THEY THREW IT ALL AWAY OVER $5 MILLION DOLLARS THAT CASELL CLEARLY DESERVED.

"Saunders remains the winningest coach in Timberwolves history, posting a .558 winning percentage over 10 seasons with the club." --- Saunders winning percentage was achieved by playing his starters way too many minutes during the regular season. Not surprisingly, Flip's teams disappointed in the playoffs.
