St. Croix River peaks, rapidly declines

A 700 million dollar bridge to nowhere and still no flood protection for downtown Stillwater. Kind of turns the rationale for the bridge (must have it to preserve the historic structures) on its head. Any new bridge should have included flood control for downtown with it. Perhaps a smaller bridge, more appropriate for the traffic levels and the St. Croix Valley (once again when I returned from the Memorial weekend at 7:30 PM on Monday my car was the only car on the bridge) would have left some money for the flood wall.
