Bloomberg-READ THIS ARTICLE!!!! Its not the food, its the lifestyle. Look at the jobs WE DON'T do anymore. Washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning the oven, shoveling snow. The lazy people that have a riding lawn mower for a 100 sq ft yard. Kids playing outside. Farming is so much easier than it ever was.
Food is not the the problem.
Let's go back another generation further: I've got my Grandma's "It Gets The Dust", an invention that created a vacuum by pulling and pushing the handle up and down! Now THAT burned calories! I doubt that it actually did much cleaning, however!
Note this is a British study and one fact that they conveniently ignored is that WWII food rationing did not end in Britain until 1954. That might have something to do with it.
You did not read the article carefully. Less calories plus more physical movement. I understand the more physical movement part but why more calories???? This is a good subject for a follow up article.
