A high ceiling for this kid. Yes, he needs to learn how to hit breaking balls and not just fast balls. He can't have that many errors at third either. But he seems willing to learn and get better. The swing is something you can't teach.

Ahhh great - he has 3 more levels to master above A ball, that means we should see him whem he is about 26 barring an injury that will bring him up a yr or two later & don't forget that the 1st time we see him will have to be after June or the time line period as not to start free agency earlier. So Miguel Cabrera was in the bigs at 19, so this super star doesn't have a shot until at least 2 yrs huh? So what can we expect here? Probably the Twins to overthink his minor short-commings & leave him in the minors, jeez A-rod probably would have been left in our minor league system because of "things to improve on". Wake up Pohlads!

The real problem is that he is already 26!

Good to hear the Twins won't rush him. We'll look for him as a 28-year-old rookie in nine years, as is the norm with this team. After all, we need to do things "The Twins Way."

Can he pitch?

Why the rush to get him up to Gardy and Vavra!! We see what they do with potential!!

After reading this article, I checked out how a similar player, Robinson Cano made it to the majors. He spent 6 seasons in the minors and started with the Yankees at age 25. Baseball more then any other sports takes time to get these guys into the major leagues. I am just as impatient as every other comment or blog here. But this kid is at least 3 years away. The big problem with the Twins is the drafting of 4-5 years ago is when those kids should be coming up, and they are not....The system is somewhat dry right now. Patience is something we do not have alot of, especially with a new stadium...very high expectations...

If Cabrera did it at 19, no reason why this kid can't either.....why wait until he is 27???? Oh, I forgot,,,,, its the "Twins Way"

jackpine54Jun. 1, 12 7:48 AM

They don't want to rush him? That's the problem with the Twins there not in a rush to do anything and it shows.

Very insightful minnystink. Other seem to want to rush him, but that would be a mistake. Imagine how frustrated they would be if this guy made the errors he is now making only at the major league leve. Give the kid some time to develop.
