The veteran outfielder treated Twins fans to homers the past two days. Yes, strikeouts will come, but the ball will fly.

I wish he would rub off on Mauer. Joe, you are a good hitter. But you'll never get the respect your MVP and three batting titles should bring unless you evolve your game to add some power (only asking for 20-25 per year), and more clutch hitting. You must be as tired as the fans are of seeing you roll over a ground ball to second base for a 4-6-3 double play.

The Hammer is a welcome sight here in Minnesota. We lost our slugger when Thome left at the end of last season, so it's nice to have some power back in the lineup!

Strike outs will come, but the ball will fly, and Josh will be traded by July.

3 year contract. Not trading him.

The Hammer seems to have similar stat lines as the Killer. Lots of home runs, strikeouts, and towering fly ball outs. Excitement when he comes to the plate. Love the Pavano comment about the "complete pro". Nice backhand comment about the young guys on the team.

This kid "crushes" the ball. Wow...the only one/homer I saw hit as far was the night Doumit killed that pitch and sent it to the upper deck. Both have some pop and power. And Morneu too. Why do you all want Joe to have it too? How many catchers have hit for power in baseball? Not many let alone plain hit. Remember folks, he's a catcher not an outfielder.

Willingham used to be a catcher -- maybe he should be the No. 3 guy when Mauer and Doumit aren't back there so that they can send Butera back to the minors. Then they could use that roster spot for ... oh wait, there's no one that really deserves the roster spot, is there ...
