After calling up Scott Diamond, P.J. Walters and Cole De Vries, the Twins finally have had some quality starts.

If nothing else at least the new crop of pitchers have made the Twins watchable again. Hopefully they can get on a roll and get back into the race by the time August rolls around.

Pathetic that assistant coaches have to be assigned to football players to assure that they go to class. And wasn't Mr Maturi the AD when the football team under the previous coach apparently created the dire academic situation that Coach Kill inhrited?

Don't worry Sid, Gardy will be putting Blackburn back in the rotation soon. He will kill any positive momentum the TWINS have.

Devries has benefitted from facing some punchless lineups but his walks and hits seem to indicate that he is a guy who is going to get shelled soon. He is a less talented version of Carlos Silva. I would be shocked if he were still in the organization 2 years from now.

What will you bid, ML GM's on this fine pitching specimen named Liriano? He's thrown a no hitter! He's got an elbow ligament that's barely been used! If he were a car, he'd be the car that the little old lady only drove to church on Sundays! He's ready to get on a roll! For a short time only the Twins will even accept draft choices!

Gardy is right in that baseball is a game of streaks. What he neglected to mention is that good teams have long streaks of wins with periodic losses thrown in now and then while poor teams have longer streaks of losses with shorter streaks of wins or periodic wins thrown in now and then. Seeing the team win is nice, however. Hopefully the team is on the upswing and can play to its full potential.

Bruininks' salary was actually closer to around $450,000, but his compensation was around that $750,000 mark. If you are going to include other compensation, the I'm sure Brewster got more than the number you are using (family travel costs, etc)
