Rev. White you are the definition of courage. Thank you for doing the right thing while knowing you could lose it all. All you are really losing is the bigots.

Way to go Heart of The Beast. You should get the good nieghbor award.

What if Dr. King decided not to fight for equal rights? It's apparent these black parishioners never had to fight for civil rights. Someone else did it for them. Makes you think that Dr. King wasted his time and his life for these people.

No matter what your stance on gay marriage is, this is why churches should not take out loans, especially high interest ones. If they cannot be maintained by themselves, or by the denomination, then usually God is telling them what his intent is.

Another very wise Reverend said: The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. MLK It may be lonely, but you are in good company. Thank you for your courage. If God allows the closing of your church He will surely open another door.

Like what one previous poster said, if any of these people who left the church are black and champion anything Dr. Martin Luther King did, they are hypocrites. What...equal rights only extend to skin color. I think this country is overdue for a major history lesson.

I admire this reverend's courage and am amazed at the lack of support for him by his own congregation of 22 years! Seems he may believe in a separation of church & state, something most churches cannot seem to recognize or appreciate. With the percentage of African American babies being born out of wedlock to ill-equipped young girls, seems to me GAY marriage should be the least of his congregation's concerns.

LOL, I don't think the congregation took off because of gay marriage? I think they left because they face an unbearable debt placed on them by a liberal fool, similar to what New Yorkers and Californians are doing in droves.

God almighty (you should pardon the expression), I'm an atheist and strongly considering sending a check to this church. Y'all who call yourselves Christians should be mightily ashamed of yourselves. A small, mean part of me hopes that you're right about what awaits you after you die . . . because if you are, then you're in for one hell of a shock when you get the roadmap to your final destination.

You are the shepard of this congregation and should be more concerned about the sheep and less about the shelter. I suggest you reread the word of God.
