Great promotion. That would be like a dentist giving away a certificate for a free root canal. :-)

In the parking lot? They couldn't even get permission to have the give-away inside the mall? Not sure I want to fly on an airline whose promotion is reminiscent of guys pulling up in a van selling 'brand new' speakers out of the back. Also, kind of late notice on the give-away. Most people are at work 10am on a Tuesday morning.

Do they charge you $100 to redeem the certificate?

There is a catch - you have to push the plane, sweep up when you de-plane, and empty the trash on your way out.

All jokes aside, there is a catch... This is a fee's based airline, which means that while your ticket may be free, you will be paying every step of the way... Booking fee - 15.99 Print boarding pass at airport - $5.00 Carry-on Bag (yes, CARRY-ON) - $45 per way Total for "free" ticket with 1 carry-on item - $111.99. Yay for free...That's the spirit.

On Spirit, even free is expensive after all the add on fee. I wouldn't fly them ever because I would never know what it will cost until after the flight, where I could see all the fees I was charged.
