The Wild are excited about the Finnish prospect, but it would help their cause more to sign the Devils free agent.

I agree it would be nice to have Parise here but I think we need more help on our blue line. A guy like Suter would fit in nicely. I think the lack of offensive production last year had a lot to do with our blue line either not shooting enough, vgetting shots through, or making crisp passes. We need some skill players who can work the puck on the point. Look at the last remaining teams in the playoffs....DEFENSE is the best OFFENSE.

People. Wake up NJ is never going to let Zach praise go. Never. Start looking for another goal scorer or leader to help Mikko get this bag of dumps going again. Nash would be cool. We are going to need two studs to help the top line. Better pray for a healthy team too. So much pressure.

"Granlund would look better with Parise" Who is responsible for this insightful headline? Are you serious?!?! Wayne Gretzky might have been better with Parise as well. Unbelievable.

For the most part, the NHL is a bore. The size of the goalie pads are absurd. Most goals scored are flukes anyways. The game will probably never be as good as it was 20 years ago. And to think that the NHL is actually considering making the nets larger?! Talk about ruining everything that was once traditional in the NHL... It never ends.

After this season, Zach Parise can sign with any team that he wants and NJ can't do anything about it.

New Jersey pretty much has no choice, they are right up against the salary cap, and the Wild have 18 million in cap space next season. Money will not be a factor, it will be if he truly wants to come here.

If the Wild want to build a championship team they should go all out to sign Parise. This should not even be a long shot possibility. Yes, I know it will be, but it shouldn't, this team and the fans need to see an addition like him to the roster. He has proven to be a leader and an outstanding player. The fans should not have to continue to settle for less.

"I don't believe Ganlund will sell any tickets." Well not being a native, and not having grown-up here, and having occasionally read and/or listened to Sid because I can't take much of him, I don't believe what he writes about hockey sells many newpapers.

Anybody who thinks the Wild aren't at least going to take a shot a signing Parise is nuts. They may land him, they may not but the will take a shot at signing him. IMO, Fletcher should call Parise's agent on July 1st and put a 5-year (at least...maybe more like 6-8 years), max-contract offer on the table immediately.
