Interactive map: Rebuilding a neighborhood

The intersection of Penn and West Broadway avenues was one of the hardest-hit areas in the tornado. The twister destroyed the Broadway Liquor Outlet, battered nearby homes and wrecked an apartment building. City and business leaders now see the corner’s revival, aided by an act of the Legislature, as a catalyst for the redevelopment of north Minneapolis. Photographs in the map below were taken soon after the tornado hit.

Streets sure are clean for it to be "soon" after the tornado hit. This picture was taken in July at the earliest.
