Solomon Elimimian might be considered small for the NFL, but he earned a reputation in Canada for packing a punch.

Obviously this guy knows how to play and has the speed. How great would it be to have one of these "experiments" turn out to be a solid player. Maybe they're so impressed with this guy that it's the reason we didn't draft an LB.

When people discuss Elimimian I have to wonder if he has skills anything like Mike Singletary or Ray Lewis who were/are similiar in size to him. He sounds like he plays like them. Singletary and Lewis were coached by Buddy Ryan and Rex Ryan respectivly at certain points of their playing careers and the 46 defense helped to maximize Singletary's and Lewis' skills. The 46 defense helped them roam free toward the football and not have to take on isolation blocks. To play some 46 schemes you need players who can rush the quarterback and the Vikings have that. Let's see how this all pans out. The 46 does work well in pass coverage if you have the right personnel. Right now I'm just looking forward to see Elimimian play. He's probably always been underrated because of his size.

The vikings have added quite a bit of team speed so far this year. I hope this kid makes the team. As they say, you can't coach speed.

If he has any speed at all, turn him into a strong safety ala Joey Browner. Heaven knows we need one. Run support and the ability to cover these new age tight ends might be just the ticket.

I'll take a hungry aggressive passionate player over someone who's had everything handed to them any day and twice on Sundays. There are tons of highly drafted players that just can't cut it. I like this kid. Turn him loose.

Bruisedup: I hate to burst your bubble, but the defense they ran in Canada was not the 46 defense they ran in Chicago and it has nothing to do with what you are talking about. The 46 defense was a standard 4-3 with an emphasis on safety Doug Plank number "46" playing the role of another linebacker. The defense was all about pressure and blitzing sometimes 8-9 men from the line of scrimmage. That is NOT the defense they ran in Canada.

I would have a player with alot of heart, then good talent. They seem to have alot more to loose, which makes them play harder.

Too small to play linebacker for the Vikings? Think back Viking fans. Remember a linebacker they said was too small to play in the NFL for the Vikings. Remeber Ed McDaniel?
