MARY TOLAN speaks! Not a hand puppet voiced and manipulated by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, but the actual living breathing Accretive Health CEO herself. Welcome back from your Fantasy Island hideaway, Mary!
Not a fan of Franklin, but I hope he sticks it to Accretive. I think even Democrats now see what a jerk Obama had running the office at the White House. Chicago land politics exposed for all to see...
Thank you, Senator Franken.
Oh, so now it becomes clearer. Old Rahm set up an issue that now Franken can gain political capital from. Lord knows he is going to need it. This is an example of Chicago politics at it's finest.
Not a fan of Franken either, but thanks for sticking up for Minnesota and not submitting to Emmanuel.
Emanuel, I think you are letting the nickname "Godfather" go to your head. Nobody in Minnesota cares who you used to rub elbows with, stay out of our business. I have been to your city lately and you should really refocus your efforts to the job you are getting paid for.
this is an example of corporations not really caring about parties. they care about having clout with politicians on both sides... it just sucks when it back fires. ................. politics is the entertainment division of corporate America. 90% of the players are under restrictive contracts.
Typical Franken - jump on board something you think will gain you some political capital. Most Minnesotans who pay their bills have nothing to do with Accretive, but Weird Al's going to waste everyone's time and money on a non-issue.
What about Fairview's Board Chairman? Charles Mooty is a man known for his attention to detail. He must have known and condoned what was going on. Why are he and the rest of the board not on the "hot" seat?
I hope that, for their debt collection practices, Accretive gets nailed.
But the way the media portrayed this story was quite biased. Hospitals have to collect billing information at some point during an ED visit or they will go bankrupt, but they are not going to wait to give urgently needed care in order to collect it. The patient will be triaged and it will happen sometime after.
