Hardly water under the bridge: Outlet raises questions over county financing

In Hugo, an outlet on Bald Eagle Lake raises questions of who pays to replace aging infrastructure.

More broken down infrastructure. Obviously, funding from the state or a federal source would be helpful. Makes you wonder how and why the 700 billion dollar megabridge over the St. Croix could have passed (creating more need for new expensive infrastructure not yet built on HW 36) when so many projects of great need are yet to be funded. A smaller bridge would have left several hundred million to assist in bridges and water projects that are approaching failure. Building the "cost is no object, signature" bridge will fulfill its promise as a budget hog. The painful reality begins now.

No one is likely to get killed on this bridge Willie 53 as they might on the existing Stillwater bridge. The bridge fight has always been a not in my back yard fight for people who have more money than sense. Sounds like a watershed project to me or just remove the structure. Let it flow naturally seems like that's the plan for White Bear.
