Patience has always been a trait Peterson has had to work on, trusting his blockers and letting the holes develop. Now, that trait is the most important thing in his professional life, to be patient with the medical staff and the rehab. Gerhart will hold it down until he's ready and there's no threat of losing his job to anyone on this roster right now. Arguably more pressure is now put on Ponder's shoulders to keep things afloat.

I agree beatmaka03...I had an acl transplant a couple years ago and it took me awhile to regain any form of the past...but it did so..of course my rehab people were not Sugarman and I def am not AP...

God Speed Mr. Peterson, the Vikings aren't the Vikings without you! To be realistic though' this season is going to be pretty iffy. SO take your time and come back healthy!!! Your fans can't take watching you writhing in pain on the turf again :-P

I was afforded an incredible opportunity to be an intern for Eric Sugarman for 1 season a few years back. Trust me when I tell you he is one of the absolute best at his job. AD is in great hands and he will get him back to 100% as quickly as the body allows. You are right beatmaka... Sugarman plays devils advocate a little bit, because he knows better than anyone that AD only has 1 gear and that is 100mph all the time. It is one of the things that will allow him to heal so quickly, because he can push through the tough days. But it can also be the reason he has a set back if your not careful and know when to pull in the reigns. But one thing you can be 100% sure about, is that when AD is back on the field it is because he will be 100% ready to go!

If he does come back he better skip the Saints game. I'm sure they practice re-injuring ACL's.

How quickly people forget including A.D. Wasn't his insistance on playing in a meaningless game what got him hurt in the first place? Adrian it's great you want to be in the first game but the brain trust of the team better make sure he is 100% ready or it will be a two year set back if he is re-injured.

Take your time and get back to 100% AD -- 2012 will be a season of watching the new guys develop and sowing the seeds for a successful 2013 and beyond, but probably not a season with a lot of Viking victories. We'd much rather wait and have you back like before than have you force yourself back too early just to prove a point!

Vikings need to err on the side of caution - put him on the PUP, and bring him back week 7. Toby can hold down the fort the first 6 weeks.

A.P. is the most important piece of the puzzle.He is a fast healer,and I wish him all the best.But Toby is quite capeable of holding down the fort. We dont want any setbacks.

Wow....If we so worried about Peterson he should have been shut down for the Redskins game. He was a bit dinged up anyway, so getting him on the injury report was not a stretch or untruthful. If it were a game with post season ramifications, then he plays, but with 2 wins, all that game did was kill our draft spot and the Knee of our star RB. The fans would have understood at that point. So now we are worried about getting him out there for game #1 of a season that is not lost yet? Yikes! A well run organization would have taken AP out at the end of the year, you dont let the player make the decision.
