Chip, your comments about the construction worker at the capital (for stadium bill) speaking with the woman (against the bill) is really a terrific story and great way to re-solving these differences. Thanks for the excellent article. Skol Vikings.

There are a lot of people hanging in there with this stadium fight that have waited 51 years for a super bowl win. I've never found out what that feeling of getting a super bowl win is like but I bet it feels something like getting the green light to build this bad boy.

A super bowl win will make it alright to give millionaires your hard earned money? Get a life and give me your wallet.

I am so sick of these stadium debates and extortions I will give not one more penny of my hard earned money to professional sports.

A vote by the people would solve this once and for all. A vote by the people, get it. No secret behind closed door BS. A vote by the people. Problem solved, we could move on.

Good article about the construction worker for and the mom against the stadium. They had a cordial talk about it and worked it out between them. Our Politicians could learn from these two on give and take.

Murphy - Let's just put everything up for a vote by the people, including our overly generous welfare system. I wonder how that would turn out?

Not everything up for a vote, just the things that were voted in by the people, like the Mols. charter amendment. It's supposed to be the law for stadium costs in Mpls, is it not?

Although the stadium creates jobs in the construction industry, the jobs are simply temporary work and not long-standing employment opportunities. Same with stadium workers. Investing these hundreds of millions of dollars in say, education, for example, can change the course of a child's life. Maybe you don't agree with my take but consider the present vs. the future.

I agree with others who have said, since when does everything come down to the people voting. I certainly didn't vote for Minnesota's willingness to give away education and free health care to illegal immigrants. I certainly didn't vote for where the bar is set on welfare benefits. Why not give the folks who are actually working and paying taxes the benefit of actually seeing something for our tax dollars. A new Viking stadium. Finally, something we can physically see as opposed to our tax dollars vanishing into thin air.
