Woods' best golf is behind him, and other story lines have emerged that are more worthy of attention from the golfing public and the media.

Totally agree. Tiger is an average PGA golfer now. This weekend's event with McIroy, Watney, Fowler, Moore, et al should be the story, not Tiger.

How does writing this article "end the Tiger fixation"? Seems to do the opposite.

jeddelohMay. 5, 1210:02 PM

couldn't agree with you more. Night in and night out on the Golf Channel it is Tiger this and that. He is always the lead story and yet he does nothing but show up and tell us how he fixed everything and then stumbles to a non finish. What a blow hard. There is so much great golf out there right now, if people would watch it for that reason. So sick of Tiger Woods I could PUKE!

I don't know about everybody else, but I think the reason I watch Tiger (and I think many others as well) is to see this dude screw it up. Love to see him lose it - kick his clubs and curse like a Navy Seal that he thought he could become....I love to see Tiger fail, sorry fans, but that is how I roll.

sbuzz16May. 6, 1212:08 AM

Pursuit, I'm rolling with you. To watch Tiger's demise is fabulous. His arrogant and selfish lifestyle seems to have gotten the best of him. Jack's records are secure, and now we get to see the new generation of golfers shine. In my book golf is better then ever!

Instead of red, he may be better off by starting to wear a camouflage pants/shirt combo on the final day of each tournament (if he makes it to that day). That way, when the desperate-for-ratings network keeps cutting to Eldrick who is 12 shots behind the leader, he can hide bit easier.

Patrick Reusse's best column of the year. Tiger Woods is just another Top 20 PGA golfer now who may or may not be in championship contention for a PGA tournament trophy on any given Sunday. Tiger Woods isn't TIGER WOODS! anymore and doesn't deserve the same constant, breathless, star struck media attention he got after completing the Tiger Slam eleven years ago.

I agree Tiger is done, but to say Johnny Miller is the best golf announcer ever is a strech so far it cannot be reached

olderchickMay. 6, 12 8:27 AM

When anyone else currently playing in the PGA can even come close to matching Tiger's record, or can win more then 1 tournament in a row, or when Tiger himself decides he is finised playing golf, then I will give up my Tiger fixation. However, I think that is a long time coming. Is he having a poor to fair year so far? Sure he is, but to write him off completely is absurd. No athelete that has to rely on his skill alone can recover from what Tiger has gone through in the past two years, some of it physical & some admitedly brought on by his own ego & stupidity. For Johnny Miller who never even came close to Tiger's record to make the remarks he has now & even when Tiger was winning shows a lack of class & a lot of jealousy, but he like the Tiger haters on this post hated Tiger when he was winning & hate him know for the same reasons.

You censors at the startribune are seriously hopeless for taking down my last post. There was no bad language and all I did was call out a pathetic columnist for being pathetic. Too bad in America that a person can't exercise their right of free speech anymore. Reusse writes every week for years on end ripping on people and I say one thing against him and it's "pull the plug on this post". What a joke.
