"It's being done one block at a time: A block is completed in three weeks, then work moves one block east." ---- Store owners: send to your city officials a short story on Henry Ford. He solved a mind-bender of a problem where all of his resources were working on only one thing at a time.

Reminds me of the central corridor on a smaller scale except the central corridor project has for the most part preserved business access at least in theory

You're partially correct, SAMIAM. Central Corridor "preserved business access" only until it reached the section where the majority of businesses are owned by minorities. Then the motivation for project planners changed to "accommodate construction instead of business". Now businesses on the south side of the stretch from Lexington Avenue to Dale Street is essentially closed off by barriers and fencing. And all but 3 intersections are completely blocked.

If anyone in the twin cities gets the chance they should shop at Jenson's in Anoka . A very nice store, run by really nice people!

My husband and I had the opportunity to check out the ice cream parlor, Two Scoops over the weekend. Excellent!!!! I have to admit 2nd Ave is probably the best part of downtown Anoka. Not only is there an ice cream parlor, there is also Grassroots Cooperative.
