Oh cry me a river. We have a garbage bill so now we take a little garbage off the top of the pile and try to convince everyone that this is a better deal? Sorry, it still sucks and it's still garbage. NO PUBLIC MONEY. What can't you understand about that?

life long Vikings fan here, I obviously want a new stadium...that being said, why does Ziggy need a palace? go to the wiki pages of various newer stadiums in the NFL, Arizona, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, to name a few...look at the cost of those stadiums...there is no reason why a stadium can not be build for 600-700 million...why does Ziggy need a billion dollar palace? Jerry Jones did that in Dallas...with largely his own money...if Ziggy took pat at contributing 427 mil, and just asked for 250 mil from the state and Minneapolis combined, this thing would be over tomorrow...I'd be crushed if the Vikings leave, but I can't shake the sense that the MN tax payers are getting HOSED on this deal...

You know I have always been an anti subsidized stadium person..not anti-Vikings or anti-stadium. Over the last couple of years it has been tough, though, reading very odd statements from fans. I think we need more math in schools. Anyway, my posts from the past when Minneapolis was not even in the sights stated clearly that there will be no stadium unless it is in Minneapolis. With all you fans crying about this or that..it will be. And I do believe we will get a stadium. Our legislators are no Thomas Jeffersons...I have fought agaisnt this stadium, but I do believe it will happen. The power to spend billions of other people's money is just to much for weak minded people in authority. I am truly dissapointed in Governor Dayton. Even he has not come out and had the decency to lie to us and say "This is good for the State of Minnesota because...". He just says it "is good" For what? He knows it is a drain..all studies, all economists say the taxpayers and the States lose money on it. So, his role as Governor of our finances is to...give it to Wilf? I kind of don't blame the fans besides their lack of math and ethics to non-fans..we have all become excruciatingly self-serving. And entertainment? Turn on your TV. What you see is you. And so are the Vikes. I guess we keep getting fatter, drive on more potholes and dumb down our kids even more. No, purple face-I am not a nay sayer..I am quite joyful. I am very active and am well rounded. You are obsessed and long for your high school days instead of growing as a person.

I have to ask this.....If an open air stadium is good enough for the Packers, why isn't it for the Vikings???...and their NEVER leaving Wisconsin. So somebody please, help me understand this....?

"...and their NEVER leaving Wisconsin.".......First, it's they are or they're, Thorsrock. (cough) Another reason for increased education spending (cough). But to the point; Green Bay was grandfathered in as a publicly owned entity. The NFL won't allow that anymore.

Thorsrock, I actually favor an open-air stadium too but then it cannot be used for other functions requiring a large indoor facility and hence no state funding. So if Vikings fans and the Vikes want to build an outdoor stadium, I am all behind them and contribute my fair share, but there will and should not be state funding.

Cry me a fricking river!! In these tough economic times where a family of 4 who makes maybe 60,000 a year with food, rent, medical bills and car payment and Insurance taken out of their income, than along comes a Multi- Millionaire with a stadium plan,he holds us hostage UNLESS we give him his ransom of 400,000,000 in taxpayer money or he'll leave! Open your freaking books! like the rest of us when we ask another entity(bank) for a loan, why do the Vikes have a problem with this? They want the Minnesota taxpayers to foot almost half the bill for their personal gain!! I love the Vikes but this is way too much for me, Heck I couldn't even afford to park in there NEW stadium!! Get Real, help kids through college, build roads, fix bridges and finally say NO to these Multi- Millionaires!!
