The newly signed receiver wants to show his teammates that he's not the same person as the one who was convicted of a felony drug charge.

Simpson better blow it up this year! Because the Vikings had the worst WR corps last year in the league and we didn't bother drafting any WR, till the 4th round when we took a couple of scrups that will borderline make the team. Safe to say, Spielman is counting on Simpson to be HUGE this year.

I think the Jerome Simpson signing is a good one. He's got a lot of ability, and now he needs to put it all together, including his personal life. I know that some people who hate sports have said during this stadium debate that the Vikings are all thugs. I think you should only say those things if you've never made a mistake in your life. Jerome Simpson deserves a second chance, just as we've all been given. I really like the vibe of this team. I think we're going to be much improved. SKOL VIKINGS!

I LOVE the part about Ponder. If he realizes specifically where he needs to improve, I really think he has the skills and intelligence to make the improvement. I'm looking for very significant improvements from Ponder this year. The big questions will be how well AP can come back. I haven't said this in years, but I really like our draft (except the 6th round kicker) this year. Jarius Wright can step in right away and give us a dangerous open-field weapon on 3rd down and spell Harvin, both as a WR and returner. Childs could end up being a bust, but he could also end up being literally the best WR in this years class. Anyone who watch film of Childs from 2010 can see quickly that he definitely has the tools (route-running, hands, speed, body, quickness) to be a #1 WR.

Hopefully Simpson can stay out of trouble and stay healthy because he can flat out play! Big improvement over recent WR's.

It's very easy to be optomistic, about the Vikings draft because its our team but i'm very bullish on our draft outside of Kalil. I saw 19 or 20 some WR's taken before our two AR wide outs. Also the Vikings wasting a 4th round pick on a FB, that they could have signed after the draft, or at the least drafted in the 7th. COMPLETE waste to use a 4th round pick to get this guy. 90% chance this guy wasn't going to be draft at all.

Simpson got a lucky break because he could be in jail for areal long time. I hope that he takes advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to turn his life around. If not he will become as irrelevant as that Smith guy, you remember the self proclaimed "Steal of the Draft".

Team speed in the front seven is still a concern for me. I'm all for smart, tough players, but speed, especially team speed, is hard for other teams to deal with. I'm not advocating the Vikings go to a 3-4, but I see why teams do it to remove one slow, typically athletically limited defensive lineman and replace him with a faster linebacker, giving you four of them. Slower players just get slower as the game wears on, and are no match against these high tempo, multiple TE or WR offenses.
