Dayton invited lawmakers to keep working on the big three: business tax breaks, a bonding bill and Vikings stadium financing.

Everyone once again have their own agenda. The Republicans are acting as if they knew nothing about the stadium issue for the last decade. Now, they want something else instead. Why? So they can fill the pockets of those who helped them campaign? They certainly aren't avoiding the stadium issue because it has been hidden for the last decade. Get it done already. You are holding everyone hostage because of your idiotic policies. Waiting, waiting, waiting... ooops! just lost the most popular sports franchise in the history of MN. Idiots.

Any reason to pay these "leaders" for three more weeks of inaction? Why not just admit nothing will happen on any of the three (taxes, bonding and stadium) and just move on--end the session now.

Gov Dayton says there has to be give and take. But his version is that GOP gives while the DFL takes...... Bipartisan politics DFL style

If I were a Republican (I shudder at the thought), I'd feel that I've inflicted enough damage to the state, adjourn and wait to be voted out in November.

irishdemApr. 30, 12 7:38 PM

Enough with the GOP trying to hold Dayton, the DFL and the people of Minnesota hostage. The GOP changed the rules at the last minute to assure no stadium deal, no tax deal, no bonding bill. Let the GOP end the session now and go home for reelection with nothing. When you can't compromise, these are the results you end up with and let them go up for election in November with no results. Good riddance.

The best outcome is immediate adjournment. The longer this goes on, the more I fear a grand compromise where everyone gets what they want: Dayton and the DFL get an irresponsible bonding bill, the GOP gets their tax cuts, and the irresponsible spendthrifts in both parties get their stadium.

Is Tom Bakk serious?? Who is he kidding that it isn't must-do? If he wants to play chicken with NFL, go right ahead but we will be teamless come Fall. What a joke this legislature is, from the 3+ week govt shutdown to this, what have they done?? "I don't believe the governor's going to be held hostage to get the stadium," said Senate minority leader Tom Bakk. "The stadium is not a must-do thing. The governor's in a position where he doesn't need a tax bill. It's very hard to negotiate with somebody that doesn't need anything."

No wilfare for the vikings.

TerrellBrownApr. 30, 12 9:03 PM

Note it GOP: I don't need a tax cut, we need to fully fund education, health care ....

bluedevil101Apr. 30, 12 9:05 PM

It's rare I agree with Sen Bakk, but he's right-the stadium is not a must do deal right now. Since this is the DFL position, I would agree that it's time to go home and stop collecting the taxpayer per diem.
