The Vikings GM proved himself a sharp poker player early on, but only time will prove if later picks pan out.

The Los Angeles Vikings will win a Super Bowl within 5 years. Of course, after Ziggy sells the team, Spielman and Frazier will both be out of a job. That being said, Spielman gets a B+ for his last draft.

Hey Seanboy, they're not going to LA. Repeat it after me...they're not going to LA. It's one of the biggest smoke screens since Sid created the contraction of the Twins. You really think they'll let that happen? Really?

Jim, you said the SAME thing when the vikings drafted Troy Williamson and Erasmus James in the first round a few years back. It is ignorant to say the least to give any qualified analysis of any team's drafted players and or general manager decision making at this point. Stop with the Winter Park "boot licking" already, it's embarrassing.

Twins weren't going anywhere either. You really believed it? Not me.

Now we'll find out how good the coaches are or aren't depending on the talent that they all supposedly have. Your job, Leslie, should you choose to accept to coax this talent out of them. If you choose not to accept your assignment the owner will disavow you of any blame and you'll be given an extension in your contract.

I love the simplicity: Should Ponder succeed, the Vikings stay. Should Ponder fail, the Wilfs sell. The Vikings move to LA, and draft USC's Barkley. The Wilfs profit from selling for a massive profit. LA profits from heavily taxing the ticket revenue. The NFL profits from being in the 2nd largest TV market Why hasn't this happened 9000 years ago?! It makes too much sense, and profit for owners! Small markets don't deserve to be NFL cities. Next up, the Packers, who only have the 35th biggest market (Minny is 15th and isn't big enough).

The Ellison pick was puzzling since they appear to like Mickey Schuler so much, but other than that, it was a A- or B+ draft on paper. It appears the Vikings will start three new starters on the offensive line (Kalil, Johnson, Fusco/Schwartz) and three in the secondary (Cook, Smith, Blanton/Raymond). That's going to take some time to work all the kinks out.

Several years of intense coaching will leave one of these fine young men in the position to be the 12th man in the huddle at the next critical juncture of Vikings playoff history.

Sports Illustrated predicted Ellison would go in the 4th, as did the NFL website. He was projected as a fullback. Kleinsasser retired. Why are people so surprised?

The defense is getting younger and tougher. This could be fun...
