With the drafting of Harrison Smith and Robert Blanton, the Vikings will have five Fighting Irish alumni on the roster.

In Medieval history, it is well known that the Vikings helped the Irish progress in terms of technology in building warships, weapons and battle tactics and also built the first towns such as Dublin. I thought I'd throw that out there.

We're in trouble with so many Notre Dame players. Notre Dame is almost as irrelevant as the Gophers in college football presently.

Dunwoody...what? Irrelevant? Notre Dame is never that in anything. There always big time and get some of the brainest and best high school atheletes in the country. How can that be irrelevant?

@lindy_frank123 - Can't wait for your "Sid like" homeristic predictions for the 2012-13 season. My favorite ill-fated lindy_frank123 prediction was after the vikings choked in New Orleans in the 2010 NFC CHampionship game you and Sid peciled the vikings in for the Super Bowl the next year and ignorantly bought into the "All in" Winter Park marketing scam that was designed to suck every nickel they could from us purple homers to cover the final year of Favre's inflated $10 million dollar contract.

Right Kenny Rogers. Just like the Vikings discovered America? Dunwoody, any fan of college football knows that Irish football is pretty relevant.

The Viki9ngs still reek. They might win 5 games with this collection and a lightweight head coach

Good draft .......... but still may be a little light at quarterback. Middle linebacker is still questionable, maybe a free agent pickup there? Either way, I look forward to the season, hope you do too.

Kill needs to focus quickly on recruits. He may be a very nice guy, but ranking 12 out of twelve with his second recruiting class won't get it done at this level. I give him two more years to prove he can coach and recruit or we're starting all over AGAIN. Go Gophs.

Hey Sid! What does "and Taylor promised that the team will be a minimum of $10 million under the salary cap next season" mean, exactly? That we will have ten million to spend on free agents, or after we grab some free agents we will still have to be ten million under the cap?

I highly doubt that Seattle spent big stacks of booster proviced cash on free-agent Flynn to back up T-Jack
