I would call this an "Opat moment", when one single vote decides a deal. Mr. Reich has in the past said he would not support this if it bypassed the city charter, which requires a referendum. And the reason this is so important? If the city charter was followed, this whole attempt to rip off the taxpayers would go down in flames -- because they do not support it! Good for Mr. Reich!

If Minneapolis goes along with the purple shakedown they will be spending money that they will need for other things in the future. Vote NO.

I really hope they do the right thing and let people vote. It's the only way to know whether the majority support it.

IF Minneapolis ends up killing the stadium bill and the Vikes leave town, I will limit my spending to items inside Target field during Twins games and parking fees — no before or after game food and drink purchases, no shopping downtown or elsewhere within city limit. That is my vote, for those of you wanting people to vote.

Does Mr. Reich really want his legacy to be that he was the one responsible for Minnesota losing the Vikings?

gcracker - the notion that the Vikes will leave Minnesota is nothing more than a rumor disseminated by PR people in the Vikings organization. They have no place to go anytime in the foreseeable future. There is absolutely NO reason for Minnesota and Minneapolis to accept this terrible deal. If it happens, it needs to happen with the Wilfs putting in a whole lot more money than the way the current deal is structured.
