How about an interesting in signing some released or waivered pitchers. The Twins need Pitching!!! Position players are not their big need.

We need someone who can HIT, not more of the same...sorry.

If he could play middle infield, they could send down Danny the Statue and he could take Plouffe with him.

I've always liked Inge. He may be an upgrade over DV and Burroughs in a new location.

Yes, we need pitching, but you can only claim those who have been released. I haven't see any stud pitchers, or even margin pitchers, going unclaimed. You really can't blame the front office for not going after getting a pitcher when there haven't been any out there. And don't even try to bring up Oswalt, he's said publicly that doesn't want to play here. He'll wait until mid-season and sign with a contender, just like Roger Clemens did at the end of his career. I know its not an exciting signing, but this actually would be a really great move for the Twins. Danny could be a great player, or he could just slack off, waste his talent and be the Bryant McKinney of major league baseball. A demotion to AAA where he would have to actually focus and show some consistent effort to get back up might just be the kick in the ass it takes to get him back on track. Since Burroughs hasn't shown enough to be an everyday player, this solves that problem. It also gives the Twins that 3rd catcher they need to get Doumit in the lineup more often. Inge would be a much better 3rd catcher on the roster than Drew Buterra. Even though Inge hasn't hit well this year, he hasn't played much and he has hit in the past. He's also a very hard worker, which is something the younger players need to see more of. Out of the players that are actually available, Inge is best fit for the Twins right now.

jimote, Maybe you've seen someone out there I haven't, but I haven't seen anything good out there for pitching. Which waived/released pitchers should the Twins sign?

bobo72Apr. 26, 1211:23 PM

Christ. More dumpster diving. How in the he** did Terry Ryan ever get a GM job?! This is the same senseless crap he pulled in the 90s; he's got a bunch of old men out there falling all over themselves, he should be rebuilding, and instead he's adding a bunch of veteran cast-offs to the heap. Hey, how's the Clete Thomas "acquisition" working out, Terry?! Maybe you can trade for Bortolo Colon and tell us how you're upgrading the pitching staff with young guns. I suppose when you're 83 everyone looks "young."

Plouffe has committed two errors in 25 chances. Let's solve the problem at second before we start shuffling the rest of the infield.

Better grab him.

2 for 20, sounds like Inge will fit right on. Wonder what his RISP average is?
