Synthetic oil may cost more, but it's a good investment

With two oil and filter changes per year, the additional cost for synthetic oil is nominal and insignificant in the overall total cost of owning, operating, fueling, maintaining, repairing, licensing and depreciating the automobile.

A new car may be required to use syn oil. Our new Camry uses 0-20 which is syn oil only. A $70 oil change at dealer is annoying. Who wants to crawl under car in December to change oil?

On the Honda Accord I would check for a weak ignition coil and add 1/2 a can of Seafoam

A "good investment"? Before I invest, I like to do the math. I just sold a car that I drove for 200,000 miles using nothing but "regular" oil changed every 5000 miles. If we continue with the $25 difference, that would be 40 times $25 equals $1000.
