John doesn't come off looking too good with his principled position.
The government should not be in the loan business anyways.
Representative Kline, it's very thoughtful for you to write your opponent's campaign ads for them in your new and more Democratic district. Voters in South St. Paul and Wabasha are gonna find it fascinating that you support them paying more for student loans because "there's no money for it" even as you vote to extend tax giveaways to oil companies and millionaires which we apparently can afford. Any other time you want to show your new district how out of touch you are, Congressman Kline, you go right ahead.
Um, how about raising taxes on the fat-cat wall street bozos or cut defense spending? How about applying some of the soon to be expired Bush tax cuts to the lower interest rates. The dems will certainly gain control of Congress - and Obama re-election, if the GOP keeps up with this behavior.
If 85% of the trillion in student loan debt is federal, is it really a wise idea to inflate the amount owed with higher interest? With defaults on student loans rising, an extra thousand a year on average for those with federal subsidized loans isn't likely to help bring those numbers down.
Yes, we have the money to fight idiotic wars in Asia and the middle east but we just can't find the money to keep student loan interest lower. Isn't the government still making money at the 3% rate anyway? It's good to see whose side that Representative Kline stands on.
Yes but he loves the tax cuts for his rich buddies. What a joke.
Good article. Students, you can see what
party is trying to give it to you.
I guess Barry knows we're going broke and getting there faster might be more fun. Let's get rid of this community organizer and get a real man in office!
Kline will fight restraining interest rates on student loans but will gladly support tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires....the GOP priorities at work and it doesn't include the middle class.......pathetic.....
