Wolves' rebuilding is unfinished

The Wolves have three starters that are the core of the team. Finding the right mix to surround them is next.

It would help if the #4 overall pick in the draft, a shooting guard, could actually shoot. It would also help if he could get to the line more than .5 times a game, or garner more than 1 assist per game. Another Kahn bust of immense proportions. 8 first round picks and only 1 quality starter out of all of them? A monkey could do a better job by accident. This team has a long way to go. Glad Adelman is here to lead us. Get a restraining order and keep Kahn as far away from the draft room as possible.

I turned on the Jazz game tonight just in time to see Telfair turn the ball over on successive possessions, giving Utah the momentum and the game. He was quickly yanked. Thanks for the first roundf pick, Sebastien and Big Al. Lots of ex Wolves in the playoffs. Can't wait for the draft.

Great news. We just got a first round draft pick. The Jazz beat the Suns 100 to 88. Let's hit on this pick. This time maybe with Adelman getting his input in there we can get a good draft pick and then pick up a good free agent and next season will start looking good.

Good article, Jerry. I'm glad that Wolves management dosn't have their head in the sand about what they have and what they need. They are in an excellent position to make good trades and attract talent via free agency. Kevin Martin and Eric Gordon are both very good players - and smart. If Ricky recovers and can play freely, it should be fun to watch. This team is going in the right direction.

Jerry, great analysis and very well put. I agree with every single assessment--except I would reverse Johnson's and Beasley's Jury positions.

Ugh. My comment was meant for the other article. My apologies...

Completely agree with the comments on Kahn. He's an embarrassment. Any semi-serious basketball fan could make better draft picks than this guy. Hopefully Adelman will have some input. A SMART first rounder, along with a seasoned Williams will provide a strong start to helping Love and Rubio. Getting Pek healthy will also lead to increased numbers next year. Dump Miller, Darko and Webster, and probably Tolliver. I still think Randolph and Beasley have a place on this team. We should be much better than we are, given the number of picks we've had, but we are finally heading in the right direction.

Pfffffttttttt Kevin Martin is not what the Wolves need. He can't help you if he isn't scoring 20. Get Courtney Lee instead !

Nice article Jerry but I keep seeing these references to the two players selected by McHale. Yes, they were solid selections by Kevin BUT lets not forget the reason WE DON'T have our own first round pick this year or Ndudi Ebi, Rashad McCants, Paul Grant, Avery and especially Joe Smith era...?? I'm curiously waiting to see what happens this off season with Kahn BEFORE we kick him to the curve....
