Sid, just want to say I have been reading you for at least fifty years and even if I don't agree with you all the time I enjoy your column. You and I are way past normal retirement but if you like your work keep going. Thanks again, for your column.

I enjoy reading Sid as well. I don't know why people continue to bash him on this meaningless comment board. He is a Minnesota icon and deserves more respect than he normally gets here.

Good article Sid. I agree with you that if the Vikings take Kalil and move Johnson to Guard, the Vikings will be stronger on their left side. Ponder's backside will be better protected. And the Vikings will have shored up at least one area of their team-their offensive line. I also agree with Spielman's evaluation of Claibourne and Blackmon as special players, with unique skill sets, that will be difference makers that change the way the game is played on their side of the ball. What sets Kalil apart, is his athleticism and his footwork. Its rare when you find a left tackle that can stay with the elite defensive ends and outside linebackers. Kalil can do that. I think drafting Kalil is a wise pick.

• Phil Humber, who threw the 21st perfect game in baseball history Saturday in the White Sox's 4-0 victory over Seattle, came to the Twins in the Johan Santana trade in 2008 and pitched in 13 games for the Twins in 2008 and '09. Way to go Twins!! Received absolutely nothing for the Santana trade!!! But you do have a new stadium and lower payroll!

It's possible Frazier could be a Free Agent next year too. This #12 overall pick of Ponder will go down as MUCH WORSE than taking Tavaris Jackson late in the 2nd round.

Vikings had Johnson graded out "well". Profootballfocus had him as one of the worst LT's in football. The Vikings offensive line was dead last in the league in sacks allowed per pass play. I'd say profootballfocus is probably closer to the truth than the drivel the Vikings are spewing.

"Normally a team like the Vikings will sign 10 or so rookie free agents, but that might not be the case this year, according to Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman." -- Unfortunately, normally a team like the Vikings will also sign at least one veteran free agent that SOMEBODY has heard of.

Congrats Siouxchamp. That's probably the dumbest statement I've read in months.

They need to sign and MD specializing in addiction rehab and an attorney specializing in DUIs and assaults.
