THe fact that Kahler didn't fire Maturi the minute he was able to do so and gave Maturi a golden parachute doesn't give me a lot of confidence he will hire a competent AD. %0 more years of football futility to come.

You seriously could do worse than a guy who ran a program that came out of nowhere to be an NCAA tournament smash success.

When Tubby is ready to retire (and not until), Shaka Smart is next in line. Smart is in the 2nd year of an 8-year contract. Shaka 2018! Go Gophers!

It would be nice to know who the other candidates were. Was this the best option or the only option?

He should be required to bring Shaka Smart with him. With no football program at VCU I wonder what his budgets have been like. They couldn't support a whole Athletic Department with basketball revenues even though they have been very successful(Far more so than the Tubbys)

Let's try this again (since my original comment was posted then disappeared). This guy appears to be the real deal. I like the hire. http://vcuathletics.com/information/directory/bios/Teague_Norwood

This man HAS to be an upgrade over the bumbling Maturi who should have been replaced long ago.
