Its too bad many kids these days will look at Alan Page and think he's not cool. We need more athletes like Alan Page and fewer like Lebron James.

He does a lot for universites in the Midwest. A lot for students going to college.

It looks like Bob Jacobsen's bow tie rubbed off on Alan Page! So good to see that commitment to the community continued in Page's efforts.

Alan Page is a classy guy, an overall good person and a credit to the state of Minnesota.

Having been born and raised a Minnesotan, I am a proud and complete human being. Thank you, Minnesota and you wonderful people, like Judge Page (sorry Alan, you will always be in my heart a part of the best D line in history - I honor you my friend), we accomplish so much knowing we are special because we are Minnesotans. Now you decide to dump our beloved Vikings, and we can not fathom why. We will go on, and we will not forget. But it is so very sad that you new people do not know how valuable the team is in our hearts and in our spirits. If you must let the team go, so be it. For they will always be in our hearts and your children will not know this. The Vikings are our spirit and part of a pride and gratitude for being from Minnesota. Just the way it is, and if this your future for my home, so be it.

Not only do we need more athletes like Alan Page, but we also need more men and more public servants like Alan Page. He's an all around class act.

I think Alan Page is a great man as well. Though he almost ran me over at traing camp in 1975. I was young and in his way. What I would like to see from him though is to take a stand against stadiums. The money that could go to the kids he's talking about could come from the taxes that are imposed for sports teams. Times have changed and we need to invest in our future. Our kids and not primma donna athletes. So.... Alan's a wonderful man, but like so many others he's silent when it comes to stopping the madness that is sports in this country. If we practiced academics as much as we practice football maybe we wouldn't have such a problem in this country.

Wow. Most of these disingenuous comments seem to discredit the wonderful work Alan Page has done for almost 25 years in supporting post-secondary education for minority kids. Now another NFL athlete from a completely different part of the country and generation has found a way to meld his philanthropic efforts with Page--it's a beautiful story. Proud of the work Alan Page and Dhani Jones are doing. Thank you both. BTW: LeBron James has done more to improve the lives of kids in this country in less than 10 years than many of these college-educated Wall Street wizards have done in dozens of decades.

Ceaselessly amazed at the ignorance of people. Calling for Page to condemn stadiums? Really? Did he not play in Metropolitan Stadium which was paid for my Minneapolis? The anti-stadium crowd at this point is really nothing but ignorant.
