Is this the best use of public money. Any expert on economic development will tell you that tourism/sports has the lowest economic impact on the spectrum. High tech manufacturing has real impact. Consider Lockheed Martin in Eagan. 1000 engineer jobs paying $100,000 have been lost. Did any of our leaders put this much effort into saving that concern? That's $100,000,000 per year lost folks! Wonder how many $9.76 pretzel vendor jobs at this stadium to compare to the loss of 1000 engineers. Is this the best use of public money or our elected official's time?

I'm all for the stadium but guys like Spooner are living, breathing arguments for diverting the funding into education.

The sooner the Vikings leave for L.A., the better for all of us.

I'm not for government bailouts, but this is an INVESTMENT. Huge difference. Jobs building it. Jobs when it's open. To those who say the dome is fine know nothing about economics. This a no-brainer regardless if your a leftie or rightie. Keep Minneapolis on the map as a major city. Or choose to be, well, El Paso, TX or Omaha. No jobs are rushing to either, but both have empty bike paths...

Nothing to see here folks. Lots of posturing and mugging for the cameras (Does Larry Spooner have a job?). Still plenty of time to scuttle this bill once and for all and send the Vikings packing (literally). There's no way that the taxpayers are buying them another stadium.

i heard mention long ago of a 2 cent or 2 percent charge on adult beverages to pay for the stadium. look at all the bogus charges that get racked up on our cell phone bills and we say nothing. just charge that tiny bit for hooch and be done with it!
