The House defeated a $221 million bill that included money to renovate the Capitol. It's now unclear whether that bonding bill and others totaling hundreds of millions of dollars will pass before adjournment.

Geez, we really have elected a bunch of inept folks to represent us in the state legislature. Very sad ...

"as the Legislature rushes to adjourn by a self-imposed deadline of April 30."... Like Jesse said... GET TO THE CHOPPAHS!!!!

Politicians are such a joke. Just a complete waste for time and money. Get rid of them all and come up with a better system.

Absolutely pathetic. Imagine ANYONE in any job other than elected representative acting this way, and then expect to keep their job. No bonding bill (as seems likely), and in it's place, a bunch of non-job creating social legislation. Throw all the bums out.

Once again, the Republicans have proved that government doesn't work. Thank you for proving that, GOP!

Are we actually paying these people a salary? I would love to have a job where I don't have to accomplish anything I was paid to do. At what point do these idiots, on both sides of the aisle, decide that it might be more important to focus on the thoughts and concerns of the average citizens that elected them to make tough decisions, rather then spending the majority of their time focused on how to make the other side look bad?

It always seems like the Capitol is in need of repairs. Maybe the building is a money pit at this time. Move them to the vacated nwa corporate building. Better yet, in a couple years we could move then to a beautiful complex at 35w and 494...there might be some free blue shirts leftover

Again argue, disagree and vote against each others bills, what a disgrace. Close to adjournment and more work not done, yet they expect their pay for work done? Another reason why there should be one house with one vote over half to carry the bill. Then get it done or vote them out.

Chicken little, chicken little, the sky is falling, the sky is falling...wait, it's not the sky after all. It's just the Capitol Dome. No loss; maybe we could build a useful building in the Chicago skyscraper mold like they did in North Dakota...no, wait, that's too much money, too. OK, we'll settle for a two room outhouse, one for each legislative group.
