Coach Kill said: "...I think we've come a long way..." (referring to he and his seniro qb.) I look for Mr. Gray to have a very fine season in 2012. And, IF he is given some help by the offensive line, the running backs and the receivers...the team could have a surprisingly fine season. They are playing a very tough Big Ten Schedule and a very managable ooc schedule. As the Big Ten season goes...so will the season go. Could this be the year the Gophers get at least 3 Big Ten wins...or more? Stay healthy, continue to grow...and prosper Gophers and Mr. Gray! This IS your team Mr. Gray! Go Gophers!

I think We got very lucky when Jerry Kill was selected and came to MN. If he sticks around I can see our way to responsibility. If I had a kid who played, I'd insist he go to the U because of Kill and his assisstants. Go Gophers.

The jury is still out whether Kill will be successful here. My idea of success for this program is a level just above what Mason brought here. It doesn't mean going to every Rose Bowl, but it means being competitive in the Big Ten. A .500 record in the Big Ten over a period of time is competitive. After 4-5 years we'll see what we get.

rsuphasayaht - The key phrase is "and his assistants". Brewster was never able to assemble and maintain a quality coaching staff. Coach Kill brought a package of experienced, dedicated coaches with him who are all on the same page. That's a huge difference.

Coach Kill's Big Ten record will tell us IF he can first reach the level of competetivness Coach Mason achieved and then IF he can coach the Gophers to MORE Big Ten wins than Coach Mason had, he could then, and only then be ranked at a higher level than Coach Mason. It is SO simple to rank our coaches. Just check out the Big Ten Record of each and every one of them. Certainly, there were times when it was the Big Two...Little Eight conference...however, by the time Coach Mason, brewster and now Coach Kill have been here, it was the Big Ten Conference. In fact, Coach Kill and his staff now have to deal with the LEGENDS Division of the Big Ten that will include games against Michigan, MSU, Nebraska, iowa, NU every year as well as a yearly contest with wisky. In my mind, this quite possibly makes winning big in the Big Ten just about the most difficult prospect any Minnesota Football Coach has had to deal with... ; 0 )

"The same was said about Brewster"? Unless there has been a break in the time-space continuum, there never was absolutely any discussion about Brewster in the same light as Jerry Kill. Brewster was all fluff from the beginning, and most people were skeptical of him until his product showed on the field. And once it did, they knew he couldn't coach his way out of a paper sack. In this circumstance, however, it's been clear from the beginning that Kill had coaching skills, based upon his previous coaching stops. Also, he had tempered any expectations for the program. To even suggest that anything that has been said about Kill and his personality was said about Brewster is laughable at best.

Maturity? How about marrying the mother of your child? There is no shame anymore!
