MN pass has not accomplished any improvement on i35 unless you want to pay. Throw a state trooper in there and your commute time just got worse than pre-MNPASS

Why would they spend the money to create a toll road that will not make a profit ? Most road construction companies bring in help from other states. The jobs are not giving money to local families anyways. Soon it will be 5.00 per gallon with another 1.50 in tolls. Soon the unemployeed will not be able to even drive to work or for interviews.

"Thompson said the system isn't intended to make money for the state but to pay for electronic signage and other expenses of running MnPASS. He said the current system is breaking even." ----So, they charge a toll in order to pay for the system that charges the tolls. Yea, that makes sense.

I know a lot of people who have lived here on their lives disagree...but I love that Minnesota gives you a choice...lots of cities have tolls on the road as a whole, everyone pays...I don't mind waiting in traffic a bit longer for a free ride in...try living in Philly, where there is a ten dollar cover charge for driving into the city, and see how much you like going to work in the morning...

There should be a day of civil disobediance and have everyone take the Lexus Lanes that can't even pay for themselves.

What a waste of money. They don't even pay for themselves and have way more cheaters than light rail.

Toll the entire freeway, not just one lane. That is the only way you will bring in enough revenue to pay for this project.

How about a toll between 94 and 494? Oh yeah, and make the toll part 60 mph and I bet it would do more than break even...

pwcgoldfish, actually the lanes were HOV lanes before they were HOT lanes. So there's no way your commute was worse before the conversion.
