Another season that speaks to the white, western heterosexual, male experience. What a snooze-fest!

Before the usual posts connecting state funding of Guthrie construction with the push for a new Vikings stadium, I would like to point out that the Guthrie got $25 million in aid, and draws approximately the same number of people downtown as the Vikings (600K annually). Somewhat more bang for the buck than a new Zygi-dome, which has at least a $600M public contribution required. Thank you.

Does the guthries employees contribute the similar dollar amount in taxes to the state as the Vikings players, personnel and staff? NO

I'm outraged that taxpayers are subsidizing a venue that enriches theater majors - private, salary-seeking individuals - who made the bad choice of majoring in a field of study that is useless away from the stage. Why did I have to pay for this?

The Guthrie's 2012-13 season provides a wonderful opportunity for Twin Cities' theatre audiences to explore, and take their money to, other theatre companies that produce much more diverse and challenging work. Mixed Blood, Pillsbury, and Frank Theatre are just some theatres that come to mind.
