I would like to see the Vikings get a new stadium, but this plan is full of holes. You want the Vikings to stay in MN as a "state-wide"asset? Then pay a statewide liquor tax or sales tax to keep them. Keep it simple, with real revenues to pay for it, or punt. Knowing MN, I will bet on "punt".

Our leader is Mark Dayton. It is time to move his plan forward!

This is what, the third article on this one hearing? I know the Strib really, really wants this deal to get done so they can profit off the land they own around where the new stadium would be, but this is getting ridiculous. The only people who want this besides the Strib's owners are the Wilfs, various Tarzhay execs, and certain elected officials. The people don't want it, and we certainly don't want to pay for it.

Hopefully the Stadium bill get passed or moving in Minnesota was a waste! Was a huge fan of Vikings fan from Seattle! Pass em' Mr. Gov Dayton!

After Target and US Bank rah rah'd the stadium and stated it was "a good deal" for Minnesota, Rep. Winkler from Golden Valley asked what they were going to contribute towards a stadium. Silence. Rep. Winkler asked if they would be willing to accept a tax surcharge to help pay for the stadium or was it only "a good deal" if the taxpayers paid for it. Well, surprise, neither Target nor US Bank was willing to accept a surcharge but said they would support the stadium in other, undefined, ways. KILL THIS RIDICULOUS BILL!

When the stadium is built the state will make almost all the money associated with it...from property tax, sales tax and income tax for the surrounding businesses. Sure Minneapolis will make some money, but it almost all goes back to pay for the stadium, police at the games etc. The economics for thcity are horrible. This really should be a state proposal...but instead they propose hijacking money from the county. The state seems unable to operate.

If you are going to speak to the/a committee, PLEASE, dress the part. Show them the same respect they are giving you. TAKE YOUR HAT OFF (better yet, leave it at home). Don't wear a jersey. I’m not saying you have to suit up but c’mon… Unbelievable!

I love that people blame Dayton for this. He is not a dictator. The republicans need to meet him half way, but they clearly can't manage anything...especially their own budget.
