Picking up outfielder Clete Thomascould have a ripple effect on a Twins roster that might be in flux for the next month.

ITS only been one game so far but THOMAS looks pretty good. THOMAS striking out alot at triple AAA has me a little worried.

It's just one game. Given the chance the Twins batting coach will turn him into a plunk and dunk opposite field singles hitter. Same as the Twins pitching coach would turn Nolan Ryan and Sandy Koufax into a pitch to contact pitcher.

Another outfielder is the last thing this club needs. I just don't understand what direction the front office is trying to go in.

So sick of hearing about Gardy worrying about only having two catchers. In nearly any situation he wants to make the substitution (like w/Revere running for Doumit, which he wouldn't do), it would be a late-game move. That means if a catcher got hurt, he would be stuck w/Luke Hughes catching for an inning or two, or maybe a couple extras. Gee, do you think you can get by for two innings until the Rochester catcher gets here for the next day? The chances of an injury to Mauer are so slim in that inning or two that Doumit is out of the game; the chances of Doumit losing a run or two (and hence, perhaps a game since it would obviously be a tight score) with his lack of speed on the bases or in the field is MUCH greater. Don't worry so much, Gardy.

I definitely like Gardy but after today's game he looked worn out. Like he didn't have any pop.

The guy is a good player, but his swing is too long and the whiffs too frequent for the power numbers. At least now we can quit hearing about Revere's arm from "the fans" here.

Leyland and he may be friends but there's a world of difference between Gardy and him. He can manage...he's been to two more World Series than Gardy and won one. Maybe should take notes from him.

"take pressure off our catcher situation" what situation? Can we start calling Mauer "The Situation"?

Willingham was a catcher for the Florida Marlins when he first came up, yes they moved him to the outfield right away but it's not like he hasn't done it, why wouldn't he be your #3 emergency catcher?
