Hartman: If Vikings are sold, they could be moved

The team needs a new stadium to generate revenue. If the owners tire of waiting, a sale could be disastrous.

If the Vikings do leave, will they promise to take Sid with them? That in itself would sweeten the deal for many.

Why would you shake down a city and state for hundreds of millions of dollars on some idle threat that a football team might leave? Does this even make any sense!?!

It's ridiculous that the Vikings needed $20 million because they aren't making a profit. The team took in nearly $100 million in television revenue last season and are due to make at least $150 million per year beginning in 2014. Add in an average ticket price approaching $100 and every game sold out since Randy Moss showed up as a rookie and it's got to be the worst run business this side of government. If the Vikes can't make ends meet with $150 million GUARANTEED every year and being sold out for decades, maybe they should leave.

There are two other brand new stadiums in Minneapolis for which the "novelty" is wearing off. We don't need a third, certainly not for the New Jersey carpetbagger Wilfs. Let them build their own stadium, or sell them the Dome for a dollar. And hey, isn't the NFL a mult-billion dollar a year organization? Why can't they give Wilf a low-interest loan to build his playground? Why do the taxpayers always have pay higher taxes, instead of the millionaires and billionaires?

Let the people of the STATE vote! leave or stay, do you think years down the road when the wilfs sell they will reimburse the taxpayers?

Believe me when I report that I don't care how much profit the Vikings owners make.

When it comes down to it, players and teams come and go. There is no loyalty. Just how much can they separate us from our money? We are rooting for clothes. Cheering for laundry. If the Vikings leave I can spend some time cheering for my kids. They should pay us to play here.

Teh Gophers are ONLY going to get a quarter of a million a game plus concessions and parking? How much do the vikings get from ticket sales AND the television contract for each league home game...between ten and fifteen million or something like that? Wow, they are taking the administrators over at the U of M for a RIDE...Wake up and smell the coffee administration and board of regents at the U of M. The vikings will be making out like like bank robbers at your expense. The wilfs and their partners are worse than armed gunmen holding up TCF BANK STADIUM... ; 0 (
