Burnsville council debates wisdom of adding more senior housing

Some members and the mayor say the city should stick to its plan to limit rentals — including senior housing — to 30 percent of homes. But others say the city should be willing to make exceptions.

Mayor Kautz and Councilwoman Sherry need to take more of a "community as a whole view". Not too many of these seniors are sending kids off to school on a daily basis. Too bad Kautz did not show more concern for property taxes when she dumped her shrine, the regional Burnsville Performing Arts Center on the backs of Burnsville property owners. The operating loss at the PAC will be about $800,000 in 2011. You will not see that number in the newspapersm, only in the audited CAFR reports.
